Physical Learning Spaces Matter
Students deserve an inspiring space, with colors and light to evoke curiosity. We equip spaces with the right resources to learn, discover, and thrive.
Impact in Educational Equity
Whether we are providing age-appropriate and culturally-relevant books that can act as doors and windows to students’ imagination or designing a state-of-the art college and career center with the resources students need to prepare them for the jobs of today.
For more than 25 years, Heart of America has worked to transform the lives of more than two million students in historically marginalized communities by providing books, investing in technology, removing barriers to learning, and designing inspirational spaces.

Case Study
As the pandemic unfolded, an estimated 30% of families in the Navajo Nation lack reliable access to power. Heart of America and partners reached 10,000+ students with education packs filled with books, school and art supplies, STEM kits, PPE, COVID safety guides, and solar-powered lanterns to make learning possible even after dark. More than 170 individual donors and organizations across the United States helped support this distribution that has spanned 4 states and reached students and families at 34 schools in 13 school districts, four medical centers and a community center.
“Our district provides instruction via distance learning, which is very challenging for our students, their families and our teachers… Having school supplies readily available for our students is greatly appreciated, as one must travel over two hours in any direction to shop [for these supplies]. The provided STEM activities will further develop our students’ critical thinking and problem solving skills. Most importantly, our students’ curiosity will be sparked with these hands-on activities.”
