Grand Opening of Redesigned Spaces at Mount Olivet Rolling Acres
Heart of America (HOA) and Mount Olivet Rolling Acres (MORA) are working together to make life brighter for MORA’s clients and residents during the COVID-19 pandemic. HOA is a national nonprofit whose mission is to transform spaces into modern learning environments so students and communities can learn and grow. MORA is a Minnesota nonprofit whose mission is to enhance personal growth for people with disabilities by offering unique services supported by a caring, dedicated and knowledgeable team.
The two nonprofits, both guided by female leaders – Jill Heath, President & CEO of HOA and Tracy Murphy, President, MORA – joined forces in 2019 to begin the process of upgrading MORA’s facilities. Together, HOA and MORA, with support from many trusted Twin Cities contractors (Engelsma, Fraser Morris, Sonus Interiors, Sport Court, and Kraus Anderson), have re-designed and renovated key spaces at MORA, including the regulation half-court basketball arena, designed so clients can train and participate in the Special Olympics, and the kitchen, bathrooms and lower entryway. Phase II of the renovation is not fully funded but will include a sensory room, technology/activity lab, and a teaching kitchen.
